Formed in 1990, the Muncie and Western Model Railroad club is a group of model railroad enthusiasts. The club was named after the shortest railroad in the nation. Nicknamed the “Ball Line” but legally incorporated as the Muncie and Western Railroad, the 3.72 mile railroad was operated in the confines of the Ball Corporation’s plant on Muncie’s south side. It was busiest in the days when boxes of Ball glass (Mason) jars home-canned foods filled the family pantry.

The M&MWRR Club designed and built the 30’ x 60’ 3-rail O-gauge model train layout at the Muncie Children’s Museum. The club maintains that layout and holds its monthly club meetings at the Museum. During meetings, the club repairs trains, cleans track, and improves the layout’s scenery. It is an excellent opportunity to “play” with trains as well as learn how to build your own personal layout.

The Muncie Train Show is this Saturday, February 23!
